Flower Drive to Lambert's Bay Part Two

Hi Friends. The flower drive to Lambert's Bay continues. If you missed part one please click here otherwise below is a brief update collage.

The harbour is tiny...

We  were in serious need of lunch and in the harbour we found...

The decor is pretty rustique but don't be fooled. As we drove past I noticed the all the tables outside was full and that said it all!

Note the gravel on the floor!

The decor was perfectly charming...

And the meal sublime... as it was way past lunch time and  unfortunately the crayfish was sold out!

That was the first time that I have been served enough tartare sauce with my meal!

They have an extensive wine menu and a good list of local Sauvignon Blanc at great prices!

I tried the Kookfontein Sauvignon Blanc and it was excellent and just the right price!

This was the first time we paid to drive on a dirt road....but it was worth it.

Saw these on the way...

By this time the sun was going down and the flowers started closing.

We were also to late to enjoy the flowers in the West Coast National Park so I will have to take another drive and include the Flower Reserves at Darling.

Here is the contact details for the restaurant...

I will be joining Watery Wednesday here.

Wishing you a wonderful week!

Thanks for stopping by!

Flower Drive to Lambert's Bay

Hello dear Friends. An impromptu Sunday drive took me to Lamberts Bay this weekend. The sun was shining and the veld was alive and vibrant with colour and life! We drove out with The N7 and the farmer's fields were canary yellow!

At the Piekenierskloof Pass we were stopped for roadworks but nobody complained and jumped out to find and photograph treasures next to the road. We all looked rather odd darting from our cars to snap away...

...well, it said a 20 minute wait....

....and please be patient!! Those who were not on a drive to view flowers were most intrigued by the crazy antics of the snap happy flower- ratzzi! We kept them entertained with oohs and aaahs!

I met a couple from Johannesburg who visits every year and they say that the flowers are better than ever. I was rather perplexed since we have had such a dry winter. Anyway, they thoroughly recommend a visit to to Langebaan area and the West Coast National Park and the flower Reserves of the Darling Area.

Some bulbs are in bud and the same drive in a week or so will be even more spectacular!

And then we took the road to ...

Look out for the next post on Lambert's Bay and a great place to stop for lunch!

Happy Living folks and if you can, get out to see Mother Nature's Great Show in Africa!

Live the Cape Town Vibe
