A Taste Collage of the V&A Market on the Wharf

Hi Dear Friends!!!

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the launch of the V&A Market on the Wharf situated in the V&A Waterfront.

There was a fantastic vibe and of course, a gastronomic treat in every nook and kitchen....

Not the kind of place you want to visit only once....trust me, there is loads of tantalising treats installed for your taste buds.

The market is open from Wednesdays to Sundays from 09:30 to 19:30, so there is plenty of time to experience all of the delights on offer!

It is not easy to choose what to eat...

There is quite an international array of gastronomic delights to feast on, and of course local...

...you can nibble on biltong ....and around the corner you can find a macaroon and a lacy light fitting....

Dr Juice is ever popular and I am working my way through the menu! Fennelicious is next on my hit list!!!

These teapots looks like illuminated jewels!

The chocholate stand of Jean-Pierre Fontain is a work of art and can induce a lyrical ode to chocolate any day!

No market visit is complete without Oysters! Have a look at the extra large oyster, bottom left!

Can you smell it....?

There is a demo kitchen up stairs and yesterday we had the pleasure of Sonia Cabano and some very luscious ingredients taking us on a taste delight to Italy!

And on a previous trip, I met these dudes! The fishmonger was missing yesterday, and I can only hope that they will be back!

Ocean Sunsets ....

Hi Dear Friends, Tweet hearts and Face Book followers!

I have had loads of problems with Blogger!

Of, all things I could not upload photos!!!!!

So, now I have a huge back log that I need and want to share....

I just adore taking photos of the sunset...who doesn't?

And of course, ocean sunsets are very special. Throw in a slab of rock in the shape of a Table and we are talking spectacular!!!! Most of these pictures were just taken on random outings and the more I look at them, the more I realise, that I should go out specifically to capture the sunset. But life gets in the way...

Hopefully, I will be living closer to the sea soon, and I won't have far to drive...

A Tourist in my own City!

Hello Dear Friends!

This holiday season I have decided to be a tourist in my own city and to do the "touristy" things that fades into the background when you are a resident.

I have been eyeing the Hop on Hop off Water taxi's canal cruise for a while and thought it was an excellent place to start!

It suited the budget for the time of month as well! So, on Wednesday, The Mother City delivered one of those perfect summer days when she brags like anything!!!

My son and I drove into town, parked at the R10-00 parking at the Entrance to the V A Waterfront, walked across the lovely pedestrian bridge to the Convention Centre and awaited the arrival of our water taxi!!!

My camera decided it was not into doing touristy things and went on strike, but I did manage to coax a few pictures before it died!!! Floating down the canal past some impressive real estate and faster watercraft had everyone gasping...

The last stop is at The One and Only Hotel where we were tempted to sit the whole day and stare at the view....

But, we had come to visit the newly opened Market on the Wharf and so, decided to add it to the holiday itinerary for another day.

The Hop on Hop off Taxi would be a lovely activity for kids as well. Interesting bits of information was also given in the commentary for which you are supplied with headphones.

You exit via the back of the Two Oceans Aquarium and what a magnificent day it was. Not a breath of wind, Hurricane Gatiema safely stowed away for another day! We were on holiday and the Mother City was sizzling!!!
