Good morning dear friends. It has been a weekend where we have experienced a few seasons. Everything from sunshine, to storms, rain, wind and even some hail somewhere as I recall. But that's Cape Town!!! Sometimes four seasons in a day and we lug around half our closet!
Well, onto the beauty of our City. A few international readers, who intend visiting our wonderful city, have asked me where we take these photos of our iconic mountain from. Most people will say that they go to Blouberg Beach, much further down the coast, to take their Table Mountain pics.
For me, the best vantage point for pictures of our "Table" is Table View Beach where these pictures were taken from. I was en-route somewhere and just stopped here for a couple of shots to show you. It was a Monday morning and sunny and bright...
It would definitely be the first place I would bring any visitor to Cape Town...
Currently, though, the view is marred by this wreckage ....
Monday morn or not...some folks were doing what they do best...
Note the stadium across the bay.
The skyline along the Table View beachfront is changing with some high rises, sadly...
although, for those who do not know, Malissa's ( a great spot for lunch and coffee has opened up across the road)
It is a popular beach for walking the dogs and over weekends the parade of pooches is an endless source of entertainment.
It's a bit chilly for swimming but during the height of summer in January and February we need chilly!
Some of you might know, that I happen to be the world's worst photographer of birds... (darn things do not keep still for long) so I just had to share this one.....
How about that?
I surprised myself....
...and then the novice got lucky!!!
...and became...snap happy
very obliging bird....goodness!
I will be joining Mosaic Monday at Dear Little Red House Here

Hi there - once you've seen it I think this view would be as distinctive as any I've seen. If must just say "home" to so many people.

Wow - what a paradise! We're both blessed to live near the sea, but your sandy beaches beat our stony shores by a mile!
ReplyDeleteHi, Veronica
