Seasons of Sauvignon ~ De Grendel Wines

Hello Dear Ones!!

It's that fabulous time of the year when we get ready for being professional beach bums and of course, tis the season for sand, sea and sauvignon!! So, what better way to get a little closer acquainted with the quaffable sauvignon of our Durbanville Wine Route....

Last night I motored down to Blouberg through maniac Friday afternoon home time traffic, to get a couple of shots for my new food blog!! Needless to say, the traffic mayhem cut severely into my cocktail hour, but non the less, I did manage to get a few pics before the the light died...

Champagne and Clemintine..yum!

My intention was to be at Seasons of Sauvignon early this morning, but well, after the spoils of the cocktail hour, I only managed to roll across the road to De Grendel Wines, at about lunch time....

The veld was a purple haze with the view up to the winery....

Things, were in full swing, and I met some lovely viby folks (off course...tsk..tsk...) ,who all gave me their opinions on which to try and which to avoid!! Great to make your acquaintance!!!

I decided that this was going to be my first and last stop for the day and that Sunday would be tasked with an earlier rise than today, to get through some of the other farms over the hill, so to speak...

Just had to make a quick stop to grab a pic of the next vintage growing... Well, I see these vines from my home office daily, but closer inspection is always a great pleasure, you understand?

The kiddies were being kept actively entertained and it seemed like a load of fun... I would have jumped in a sack myself had I not had a bit of a, shall we say..aftermath...

Please note Mr Super Cool  on the right of the collage keeping the bean bag tossing in order!

And, I just had to sneak a peek into the engine room of magic potions..

My preferred mode of transport hovered obligingly for my lil Canon overhead....

I bought myself a bottle of  De Grendel Sauvignon, of course, and found a comfy spot to decant and quaff and enjoy the music, the view, the relaxed ambiance and to thank the gods for placing me here in a lil piece of Mother City heaven, in the first place...

Now, as a serious shoe and handbag addict, I was instantly more alert when I noticed the shoes on the musician.... catwalk, here I come... How cool are those???

All in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable afternoon for me, and I just had to roll across the road with the remains of my bottle of white, so it was very convenient for me...sigh of absolute pleasure...

Tomorrow, I am taking a shot at the rest on offer!!

Do, make a turn behind the boerewors curtain and get more details of Seasons of Sauvignon Festival in Durbanville by clicking here. It promises to be a blast and if you have sun where you are, please bring it along!!!

Thanks for you precious company!!
